This is a pretty simple photomanipulation of some scenery. This isn’t something I usually do and because of that, I’ve been practicing more and more to improve when it comes to smaller details. This photo is made up of five different photos, if you’d like to see each individual photo I have uploaded this to my DeviantArt and have links to each there.
As stated above, I got all my stock photos for this from DA. Working with multiple images is something I much prefer to just two or three, and at five images this is still a little on the low side for me. Overall I’m pleased with how this turned out, of course the colors and contrast vary from screen to screen so I am not sure what flaws will show on different computers or cell phone screens. (I’ve toned down the contrast in this manipulation to try and compensate for the different screen resolutions, but still on my cell phone this looks very high contrast.)
I felt the need to focus solely on scenery this week because it is not something I typically spend a lot of time on when I am in photoshop. In the past, I’ve done photomanipulations mainly featuring a horse, and that is where the majority of my attention to detail and focus lies. This week, I thought I would leave out the subject and focus entirely on what I would normally consider the “background”. I’ve created backgrounds like these before, but with a main subject in the photo they are usually not so focused and aren’t the center of attention, and because of that I feel as if I haven’t honed my skills as much as I could. There are some things I can pick out in this even now, after working on it, that aren’t as seamless as I would like, but I will continue to improve and practice.

It’s an interesting piece. Looks like you’re on the right track here. 🙂
