Nickname photography

As a project for one of my courses, I was required to photograph non-type objects and arrange them to spell out my name or, as I’ve chosen, my nickname.

Having a name like Ali didn’t seem challenging enough for me in this assignment, and as one of the options was to choose a nickname to photograph, I decided to go with my parent’s nickname for me, Ali Oop. Finding images or arrangements in my day-to-day life that resembled letters was not difficult for me; I found the most challenging part was arranging the things I found into a cohesive image! I took, at minimum, 3 photos of objects that resembled the required letters I needed. I tried to keep it within a theme, although that wasn’t as successful as I had hoped. The theme I had in mind was rural, and living on a farmette the majority of my “letters” fit that idea, with the exception of my second “O” and my “P”. Overall, I am happy with the way this came out and I find it fairly easy to read.

A – Curtains
L – Barn spigot
I – Bent wire fencing
O – Screen door
O – My (FR-S) tail light
P – My (FR-S) side mirror
